Adult Foster Care

PRIDE, Inc.'s Adult Foster Care (AFC) program provides a safe, supportive living option for adults with a permanent disability that impacts their ability to perform self-care tasks.  We serve individuals ages 16 and older who need assistance due to aging, medical conditions, mental illness, or developmental and/or physical disabilities.

Members are carefully matched with approved, qualified families who provide lodging, personal care, and daily support in a home environment. This family-based model offers a more personalized and compassionate alternative to traditional residential care, helping individuals feel secure, valued, and connected.

Community-Based Day Supports

Our Community-Based Day Services (CBDS) program empowers individuals to build independence by developing, strengthening, and maintaining the skills needed for personal growth, social connection, and success within the community. Participants spend at least 70% of their time actively engaged in community-based experiences, where individual interests, goals, and vocational opportunities are continually explored to create meaningful, real-world learning opportunities.

Opportunities may include volunteer and vocational experiences, health and wellness programs at the YMCA, memberships to local museums and art galleries, equine therapy, transportation training, and day trips throughout Massachusetts. These experiences encourage confidence, community inclusion, relationship-building, and the development of everyday life skills.

PRIDE, Inc. also provides specialized support for individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), a non-progressive brain injury that occurs after birth. ABI services include community-based day support, individual and community rehabilitation, adult companion services, short-term respite, and supported employment services — all delivered through a person-centered approach focused on maximizing independence and quality of life.
