Rick Robillard is the Executive Director of Pride, Inc., a community employement and services provider, located in Taunton, MA. He was formerly for the Department of Mental at Taunton State. Douglas LathamDoug has worked and lived in Taunton his entire life. Through his years at Taunton High School and after, he volunteered at the former Paul A. Dever School and Lakeville Hospital. He provided the individuals who lived there with community experiences. After graduation, Doug worked at Taunton State Hospital as a Mental Health Assistant for six months before enlisting into the United States Army Reserve. In the Army, Doug did his Basic Training at Fort Polk Louisiana and Field Medical Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. While in the reserves, Doug continued to take courses becoming an Operating Room Technician. Doug was at that point promoted to a Staff Sergeant because of his leadership qualities. When in the Combat Support Hospital, Doug was responsible for the assembly of the hospital in the field as well as being in charge of the Operating Room. Doug also was a Platoon leader. The unit performed operations in Germany and Canada before his retirement in 1990. After serving his commitment of six months in the Army, Doug went back to being employed at Taunton State Hospital as a Mental Health Assistant. He then took the Civil Service Exam to become a Senior Vocational Instructor. While in the Rehabilitation Department Doug initiated and developed a Janitorial Training Program for residents at the hospital preparing them for employment. As the deinstitutionalization of patients from the mental health institution increased, Doug was loaned to PRIDE, Inc. in lieu of five to six individual's payment from DMH. He worked at PRIDE as a Work Supervisor and was soon promoted to Production Coordinator. He left state employment to take the position of Plant Manager at PRIDE. At present, Doug is the Director of Operations, being associated with PRIDE for over 35 years. As Director of Operations, he is responsible for the facility as well as the Production Department and the commercial income. He also coordinates events to network and raise funds such as the Holiday Party, Summer Outing, Easter Seals Volleyball, Cancer Society Daffodil Days, Earth Day City Clean Up, United Ways Day of Caring, Float for the Christmas Parade and The PRIDE Golf Tournament, which is the main fundraiser for the agency. Doug has been involved in the community organizations for many years, to include the Oakland Westville Community Center which was affiliated with Taunton DMH where he was a member and Councilor involved in helping individuals and families. The Taunton Ecology Awareness Movement where he worked with City Officials to start the recycling program and educate the citizens of Taunton. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Saint Francis Samaritan House, a shelter for the homeless. A member of the Taunton Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Portuguese American Civic Club, of which he is the Chairman of the Craig C. Scholarship Committee.
Steve has worked in the non – profit sector for over 25 years and has been with PRIDE, Inc since December 2008. Steve grew up in Boston attending Boston English. He graduated from Bentley University in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Steve started his career in the retail industry spending 15 years with Filene's Basement and 16 years with the Old Colony YMCA in Brockton working as a Staff Accountant. He recently worked as a Senior Accountant for the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative in Boston. Steve resides with his wife in Mansfield.
Barbara Jean White has worked in the Human Services field for 35 years and has been with PRIDE, Inc. since the fall of 2006. She possesses a Master's Degree in education from Cambridge College in counseling/psychological studies. Barbara Jean has over 30 years' experience in management of day services for individuals with a variety of disabilities. She has also worked as a counselor in an inpatient hospital for children and as a therapist at the Sovner Center Clinic for adults, both specializing in clinical services for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses. With a strong behavioral background, Barbara Jean incorporates theories of behavioral support in humanistic applications designed to teach persons with disabilities in making good choices in their daily lives. One of the main reasons that attracted her to working at PRIDE, Inc. was the philosophy that ALL employees of varying abilities are valued and treated equally. She is a creative thinker and expert at designing programs and developing innovative supports for people. Barbara excels as a supervisor and motivates her staff to do their best as well as to become creative thinkers themselves. Barbara is the leader for Employment and Day Services at PRIDE
Kimberly LapineKimberly Lapine is the Director of Community Services and the Bristol Employment Collaborative. She has over 18 years of experience working with people with disabilities, including 10 years management experience. She has a BA from Bridgewater State and is a specialist in working with people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. She is fluent in ASL, and she serves on the Board of Directors of DEAF, Inc. She was one of the representatives from Massachusetts who traveled to China to review and consult on services to people with disabilities in that country.
